Sigma Iota Rho: Honor Society for International Studies

Initiation

Zeta Rho, a new chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, the honor society for International Studies, was formed at Rowan in spring 2016. International Studies majors and International Studies minors are encouraged to participate in this honor society, which organizes talks related to International Studies, service projects, and social events in addition to an annual induction ceremony.

While all International Studies majors and minors are encouraged to participate in the society's activities, to be inducted into Sigma Iota Rho and hold leadership positions in Rowan's chapter, Zeta Rho, students must be juniors or seniors with at least a 3.3 overall GPA and at least a 3.4 GPA in courses related to International Studies. International Studies minors who have at least 21 credits of coursework related to international studies and the requisite GPA may also join.

In addition to graduation regalia, students who join Sigma Iota Rho will receive a copy of the society's journal, Journal of International Relations, as well as the opportunity to submit their research papers for possible publication in the journal's print or online edition. Sigma Iota Rho also hosts a conference at the University of Pennsylvania in April; students who wrote outstanding papers related to international relations are encouraged to apply to participate in the confence!
